Description
CORE Research is a Swiss medtech company and ETH Zürich spin-off specializing in non-invasive core body temperature (CBT) monitoring for scientific research.
Our flagship instrument, the CORE Calera, is a chest-worn wearable that continuously measures CBT using a proprietary heat flux sensor combined with machine learning algorithms. Weighing only 17g, it records skin temperature, heat flux, and heart rate to deliver accurate CBT estimates (±0.3°C) without the participant burden of rectal probes or the cost of ingestible capsules.
The CORE Calera is designed for sports science and exercise physiology researchers studying thermoregulation, heat acclimation, heat stress, and athletic performance in lab and field settings. It stores up to 7 days of continuous data with Bluetooth connectivity, making it practical for both controlled protocols and real-world deployments.
Validated in 50+ peer-reviewed studies, including Januário et al. (2024, ICC 0.98 during cycling in the heat) and Priego-Quesada et al. (2025).
