Injury Preventative shoe sole
Description
Sports Engineering, Inc. (SEI) designs products that reduce the risk of injury without diminishing performance. We want to partner with equipment producers to bring these products to market. We have several patents on shoe soles and ski bindings that can absorb potentially injurious loads in special nonlinear stiff-soft spring systems. These are designed to transmit performance loads like conventional shoes then absorb excess, while still transmitting loads required for performance. SEI has been working for over a decade in cooperation with the Sports Engineering Lab at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI, Worcester, Massachusetts) in designing, prototyping, and testing components and equipment.
